Prince Rupert, on the Northern Inside Passage · Since 1988
Grizzlies until Friday.
Whales from Friday.
Both of those facts are already on your website, in prose, on two separate pages. Today is the one day of the year they change places.

Today is the hinge of your whole season and the site does not know it
The grizzly tour runs to the end of July. The whale tour starts at the end of July. Both facts are on the site, in prose, on two separate pages — so on the one day of the year when the answer changes, a visitor has to find both pages and work it out.
- 02
-
The footer says 2021
Five years old, on every page, underneath a booking button. It is the number somebody uses to decide whether the tour they are reading about still runs.
- 03
-
Nothing on the site is dated any later than 2023
Not the blog, not the reviews, not the FAQ. For a business selling a wildlife trip in a specific season, the absence of this year anywhere is the thing a careful buyer notices first.
- 04
-
There is no price on any page
Not a from-figure, not a range. Somebody choosing between a whale tour here and a whale tour somewhere else has a number for the other one.
None of this is a criticism of the operation. West Coast Launch Ltd. has been running boats out of Prince Rupert since 1988, and a website falls behind in exactly the months the boats are busiest — which is now.
What would change
- 01
-
One season record, and the site does the arithmetic
Store the two windows once. The front page then says what is running today, what starts next, and how many days are left in it — without anybody editing anything on the last day of July.
- 02
-
The year, drawn
Somebody planning a trip in February wants to know which month to come. A strip of the year answers that in one glance; two pages of prose do not.
- 03
-
A price, or a reason there is not one
Either publish a from-figure or say plainly that tours are quoted per party. Both are answers. Silence is the only option that loses the booking.
- 04
-
Let the footer look after itself
So it is never again four years behind the boat.
